Where do I start when writing about all the things that I love about cruising on Silversea Cruises. Of course, the all-inclusiveness comes to mind. Unlike many lines that promise an all-inclusive atmosphere, but do not come through, Silversea never fails to measure up.
Gratuities are always included and no compensation is expected. There is not that awkward feeling that staff is expecting and wanting more. All the beverages are included throughout the ship, whether in your suite that is stocked daily or upon request, a beer or margarita at the pool, martini before dinner, wine at dinner or just the cappuccino or after dinner port. I do not have to sign for any of these and I love it!
There is no children’s program on a Silversea Cruise and those children that may be traveling are usually few and well traveled and well behaved. The small ship atmosphere is especially appealing to couples. With only 300 or 400 guests you will have a wonderful opportunity to get to know the staff as well as a wonderful mix of international guests onboard. It is also nice being able to dock instead of being tendered in many ports and not have to compete with thousands of others when disembarking at some of the intimate ports around the world. The itineraries also include some very unique places and many times have extended day or even overnight stays!
Of course the food and service is above expectations. You’ll love the open seating dining where you will dine when you want and with whomever you want or just a romantic meal for two! We enjoy the formal nights still included on every cruise, but if you decide not to dress formal, then you can dine in the more casual restaurant. Although there are various options for dining and we love to try them all, we always love to have at least one dinner served course by course in our suite! The suites are well appointed and 80% have private verandahs.
There is always plenty to do on a Silversea Cruise. The workout facilities are ample for the guests onboard and you will enjoy time at the spa. There is a bridge instructor on every cruise and of course plenty of planned activities throughout the day and some good entertainment to enjoy at night. We can’t wait to go again!
