Princess Moves up Debut of New Ship

Princess Cruises' next new-build will arrive one week earlier than the line previously expected.

The 113,000-gross-ton vessel will spend its first season sailing western Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale and will relocate to the Mediterranean in summer 2009.

Passengers booked on the ship's previously scheduled inaugural cruise on Nov. 15 will have the opportunity to change their booking to the new Nov. 8 sailing, Princess said, and should do so by March 31.  Passengers who decide to stay on the Nov. 15 voyage need not take any action.

The Ruby Princess is a sister ship to the Emerald Princess and the Crown Princess.

The Ruby Princess will debut on Nov. 8, Princess said, allowing for a new inaugural voyage, a seven-day Western Caribbean cruise to Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Princess Cays.
