Holland America Line's Eurodam to have Italian and Asian Specialty Restaurants
By Johanna Jainchill
Holland America Line's upcoming new-build, the Eurodam, will have an Asian restaurant, an Italian restaurant and an all-day pizzeria when it debuts this July.
The Eurodam will feature the line's As You Wish dining program, allowing passengers to choose traditional, pre-set seating and dining times or a flexible dining schedule.
Those that choose flexible seating may make reservations until 4 p.m. daily during a cruise or simply walk up anytime during dining hours.
Holland America ships currently have one specialty restaurant, the Pacific Northwest-themed Pinnacle Grill, in addition to its main dining room and Lido deck eateries.
Tamarind, the new Asian restaurant, will be reservations-only and will seat 144 diners. The Silk Den lounge will be adjacent to the Tamarind and will overlook the ship's magrodome (a glass roof over a swimming pool). Holland America has not decided if it will charge a fee to dine there.
An area of the the Lido restaurant will become the dinner-only Canaletto Italian restaurant. Holland America will encourage cruisers to make reservations for the casual, 72-seat restaurant, but walk-ins will be welcomed.
Slice will be a daytime-only pizzeria, aft of the pool.
The reservations-only Pinnacle Grill will charge $30 per person for dinner and $15 for lunch.
