Royal Caribbean Releases Information about the New Oasis of the Seas set to debut in 2009

For those of you who have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new Genesis class ship….the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas, your time of waiting is almost complete. Along with the year of 2009 will come the launch of not only the largest cruise ship of Royal Caribbean’s fleet, but the largest cruise ship in the world, the Oasis of the Seas….approximately 220,000 tons and 5,400 cruise passengers.

This ship boasts a wide array of innovative onboard amenities and activities that will leave your schedule jam packed with things to do, giving you no excuse to ever be bored while on vacation.

Royal Caribbean recently announced there will be a total of seven distinct neighborhoods onboard including the featured Boardwalk area that was inspired by the nostalgic seaside piers of the olden days. This was a place for families to enjoy. Along with several carnival games, passengers can choose to eat in numerous restaurants, go to a psychic, tattoo parlor or ride a carousel.

As passengers approach the end of their stroll along the Boardwalk they will encounter the Aqua Theater, which according to Royal Caribbean, is the largest fresh water pool at sea.  This exciting new amenity will allow guests to relax poolside on sun loungers located on tiered platforms surrounding the water. At night the Aqua Theater will be  transformed to accommodate 600 people for theatrical performances which will feature synchronized swimming, water ballet, professional high-diving, acrobatics and fountain shows synchronized to lights and music.

Central Park is another distinct neighborhood debuting onboard the Oasis. Central Park offers passengers a promenade filled with trees, gardens, restaurants, bars and shops. Guests can enjoy concerts and street performances while lounging in their balcony staterooms overlooking the park festivities.

There will be 37 different accommodation categories offered on the Oasis of the Seas including the brand new industry first category, two-level loft suites. There are only a limited number of these available onboard. They will give guests expansive views of the ocean through floor-to-ceiling windows. There will also be two rock-climbing walls and a zip-line which hangs nine decks over the Boardwalk area. Royal Caribbean has yet to announce 4 more secret neighborhoods which will be revealed over the coming months along with many other onboard amenities.

Be prepared to be the first on the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas, early booking is scheduled to begin this fall!
